About the event

About the Event:

This workshop prompts a collective introspection on the historical implications of libraries, texts, and readings. Drawing inspiration from the layered connotations of Lubnah and Haewon's personal library and the stages of a hydrological cycle that nurtures a seed’s blooming, visitors will participate in three creative exercises to explore embodied reading practices. Our environment becomes one of a speculative state, where we examine our previous understanding of/relationship with texts, and construct alternative exchanges and intentions.

About the Host(s):

Lubnah Ansari is an artist-researcher who explores exercises of love, intimacies, and agencies in India and the Gulf. Haewon is a Korean feminist who graduated from NYUAD with a degree in Social Research and Public Policy; these days, Haewon is reading about gender ethics, evolutionary biology, and earth jurisprudence.

Schedule:

6:00-6:30: Socialize

6:30-9:00: Workshop
